Windows 7 key blocked

Hello

Earlier on this year i bought a new windows 7 key from a large online company and have had no problems with it up to now. Installed windows with no problems the first time round, updated, upgraded to windows 10, passed windows validation with no problems.

This week i decided to upgrade my PC, new ssd hard drive and new mobo. Installed windows 7 with the same key that i bought earlier on this year on my new hard drive and it all seemed to be ok until i went to validate.
Now im getting the message "The product key you typed has been blocked by microsoft ... code 0xC004C003

I have also tried the activated by phone method but with no luck and i'm wondering if i have been sold a key that should not of been sold or maybe its been sold to a number of people and that's why it may of been blocked

If anyone can shed any light on this i would be most grateful

i'm wondering if i have been sold a key that should not of been sold or maybe its been sold to a number of people and that's why it may of been blocked

Thank you for reply Porthos, i have just had an email back from the company i bought it from and they have tried to give me another key to replace it but that turned out to be the same key i bought a few days ago to put on a friends pc. Think ill just report them to microsoft as im now out of pocket and probably not able to get my money back.
