Windows 7 key for multiple computers?

I read somewhere that you can get a key that can be used on multiple computers, is this true?

it seems like you could get a family pack, are these available for windows 7 ultimate edition?

Yes - and No. Such keys do exist, but only for sale to Business customers who have signed a volume licensing contract with Microsoft. Retail customers cannot purchase one, and the sale of such keys on eBay is not permitted by the EULA. Microsoft regularly deactivate any such keys they discover to have been sold on illegally.

Enterprise customers can purchase a volume licensing agreement, keys for which can be KMS (activation requires a Key Management Server on their network) or MAK (multiple activation key, activated through Microsoft activation servers). More here...
