Maybe your key can only be activated one time (after all it was free right)? Did you check the message from the license manager from an elevated command prompt?

All of my systems still run fastest on XP 32-bit for the most part. Win7 is fun to play with, but I still prefer XP for raw speed, security, and functionality.
If truly this is installed on the same computer but you had to reinstall, contact Microsoft and ask tell them the situation. Sometimes they will activate it over the phone for you. Not sure if that is an option in W7 though as I did mine online and don't remember a phone in option.

I seem to remember offline activation somewhere in Windows 7. So I'm pretty sure it's in there.

I use MSDNAA, I've never had an issue. I've been running the RTM for awhile. Windows 7 can be activated up to THREE (3x) before you have to start calling Microsoft. Thats a standard deal with them.

IF you are using your 32bit key on 64bit, I should slap you. There's a reason WHY they give you specific keys for each version. I use the same thing you do, they gave me 1 Serial for my 32bit and 1 for my 64bit.

I didn't use my 32bit for my 64bit, I've had no problems.

Not tryin' to be a dick or anything wit the "slapping" comment, but common sense says, use the one you're given.

Also, if the problem continues, I'll Remote Assist you, and I'll help you out. When you download the ISO, what speed do you burn it at? Does the CRC Check Pass, or does it fail?

Keys are platform independent. There's no such thing as an x86 key or an x64 key.

Burn errors would only affect installation, not activation issues. If it installed fine, then his burn is fine.

Ever have one of those long nights, where you cram for hours, and you take your test, only to find out you barely passed it? I just took my pre-certification , I passed but with minimum score. So if its going to be slapworthy, mind kickin' my butt instead? My head is swollen from hitting my desk/books for the past 12 hours.
