Windows 7 Lite Builds - SFT

I have made a 650 Mb image, but only after painstakingly deleting extra WinSxS files. Without that extra work, you can get a very usable install in 950 Mb or so...

The 7Slimmer program is designed to always make the finished ISO usable. Utility is much more important that install space.

Stefan's Win Integrator will at least run , but haven't yet had a successful install after using it.

RT7 Lite refuses to run at all.

what error are you getting that rt7 will not run? have you posted in the thread for rt7 asking for help?

Initially had net frame work 4.0 installed. After uninstalling that, redownloading and reinstalling RT7Lite - same error.

I do have 7 Waik installed of course.

Haven't had time to investigate further , and haven't got round to posting on their Forum.

It's only 7 mb or so - is there more to it?

It doesn't. My program is hardcoded to remove certain features, whereas 7Lite RT and the others give you options and a GUI. Am I saying I have been defeated? No. But are they better? Yes. The only real advantages this program has over the other ones are 1) you do not need to install it. 2) its less than half a meg (put it on a floppy ) 3) mine has been around for almost a year, so all the bugs have been worked out.

So in brief, use the 7Lite RT unless you get some weird crap. I decided to stop developing 7Slimmer as soon as Rockers Team pulls it out of beta.

Gratz to them for making a good program!

sounds like you are running an earlier version of it, try the latest version.

Thanks for trying to help - but I have that installed already.

Just checked - it is the same version of Flash player activex I already have - I also tried reinstalling it - same error from RT7Lite.

When I tried it out, I got some error immediately after launching it (7LiteRT needs to close). Turns out I needed the flash player activex thing. Aside from that, you don't even need WAIK if you are using Windows 7 to run it (DISM is included with W7) and imagex.exe is included with the 7Lite program (come on, WAIK is redistributable, right?)

can anyone please tell how to re-add removed features? either on an already installed one, preferably, or onto the disc image...
for example i'd like to add back remote desktop logon ability.
also, is there a FAQ or other good resources about seven lite building? i have only nLite experience with xp...
