Windows 7 Logon Problem.

Recently I shut my laptop down and went somewhere, came back and turned it on... Boot seemed normal, got to the log on screen in the normal amount of time. But when I try to log in on my account, it starts to go to windows, the screen turns black and all I can see is the mouse. Then the screen turns completely black with no mouse, and goes straight back to the log in screen. I can log into any other account, and I can even log into mine in safe mode. I tried to do a system restore, but for some reason it's turned off. It won't let me turn it back on either. I've tried everything else I can think of, and have run extensive virus scans with avast professional. My account is administrator, so I can still run everything from other accounts using my password. Anyone have any ideas as to wtf has happened here?

Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

Specs if needed. Windows 7 Home Premium, 64 bit (x86). Dell Inspiron 1545 laptop.
3gb of ram, 2.1 ghz dual core processor. Any other info needed just ask.

Thanks.

Have you tried booting into Safe Mode? Hit F8 when PC firsts shows Win7 image... see if it will boot into windows that way. Sometimes just booting into safe mode and letting it boot all the way, then simply a reboot can fix issues like this.

Sorry I missed your
and I can even log into mine in safe mode.

Since you can go safe mode and other accounts login fine, something in that login got hosed. Try a repair from the Win7 disk?

Was it installing a Windows update when you shut it off? That can cause strange issues like this...

Safe Mode and Other Attempts.

I did boot into safe mode, and try to see if it worked. Nothing changed. I managed to download all the newest updates, and nothing changed still. Avast shows no virus. I'm going to try spybot S&D and see if I have some malware or something.

The other 2 accounts on the laptop are 100% intact.
I have also managed to move all my music and downloads and etc, from my main acct to a secondary one. My password is still needed on all accounts to perform certain tasks. I just can't log in. It does the Loading Windows with the load circle, screen turns black, my mouse is visible and movable, screen turns completely black and no mouse is visible, then I'm right back at the log in screen as if I'd just booted.

Won't let me boot in any other mode than safe mode for my account.

It's really baffling actually.

As far as trying a repair with my disc, I'm don't have one. I may be able to torrent a copy and use it just for repair purposes? I don't know if that would be illegal or not, considering I paid for my home premium? Any ideas?

As I said, any and all help is useful. Thank you!

I would if I had a Windows 7 disc. But, like I said, I don't have on =(

Is there anyway to do this without a disc?

I would think that there is a recovery partition on your computer.and the Repair might me on your hard drive.

I would restart your computer and when it first starts, look for something like Setup Mode, or Press ESC to enter setup, then you might have a menu of options, look for something like System Repair

Also did you make recovery disks, I know some manufactures have you make your own recovery disk.

Since you said that all other accounts are working except yours, did you install anything recently that might have caused this issue?

Hope this Helps..

I have uxtheme patch for the 3rd party themes. But I did that months ago. This just happened on wednesday. Someone told me it's uxtheme patch related. I have no idea though. Going into setup at boot now to see if I have some kind of repair option because I do have a recovery partition.
