windows 7 mbr

Hi,
I heard that it is best practice to make a separate small partition for the mbr.
I wanted to ask you if it is indeed a good idea and if not then why.
I think it is a good idea cuz when re installing windows (or upgrading it), you wont harm the mbr, as it will be in a different partition.

Currently i have windows 7 installed, is there a way to move the mbr outside of the first partition into a separate one?

The MBR isn't in a partition - it's at a Main Boot Record in the area in the front of the first partition. You don't move it around.

Okay, but is it possible to be able to delete first partition without affecting it?
Currently i must do repairs every time..

No - if you delete the primary partition, the MBR must be repaired as the MBR contains the primary partition entries in its partition table. To avoid this type of problem, remove all partitions and then install Windows 7. It will create a 100MB partition first, and the it will create all other partitions after it. The MBR will sit in front of the 100MB partition and you won't have to repair it if you choose to delete any of your system/data partitions.
