I cannot get my microphone to work with windows 7 home premium 32bit. When i try to adjust the microphone settings in the sound panel I get a "Windows Shell Common DLL has stopped working" box that pops up, I then select "check online for a solution and close the program" windows acts like it is looking but then it just goes away. I have read many people have this problem and no one can find a solution. Please help me in this situation, thank you.

First thought, update your sound drivers to the latest version available. If you are using the Integrated Audio on the motherboard, go to Intel and get the latest version. If you have the latest version reinstall that.
