Well- unticking that option turns down the threshold to some degree but im looking for complete removal of it.

There has been some reg files for XP for several years wich are mainly used for FPS players who doesnt want any accel at all. im looking for complete removal under 7.

must be some of you quake or CS players who knows what im talking about.

I know exactly what you’re taking about and I wish I knew.
I’m a quake3 excessive player and the mouse is simply untamable (Logitech 518)
I’m using the default setting for Nvidia control panel and still the more I move in the game the faster the mouse moves. Set point software does me no good either.

I've tried using the “mouse fix” for Vista- but that doesn’t work.
We may just have to purchase another mouse and use whatever software that might come with it.
Still hoping for a fix though.

Im sure there will be some regs for it. 7 is still new but maybe there are some tweakers who knows how its done here and maybe they could make some files for it.

an advice tho Jeff, until they get here, remove the setpoints-

Hello guys,
Have u tried in the game settings itself.
CS and Quake options has mouse settings.
There the acceleration might be more.
My Logitech mouse responds correctly.

nah, gotta fix it at the base :) in game settings doesnt count if the base settings are wrong.

You can address mouse sensitivity and acceleration to a degree in an autoexec.cfg, but I agree; it has to be fixed outside in the windows environment. And yes- I’ve taken Set point off some time ago, I was just relaying how it was unable to address my problem

It’s been a long while since I’ve been able to play with settings as smooth as they were in XP. In quake it’s like playing in Mario bros Iceworld.

How do you know it only "turns down the threshold"?

Well, that mousefix works on 7 as well, its not as good as it is on xp but it works.

That and 250hz polling rate on the MX is as good as it gets for now. Gonna have to get one of those 120hz lcd cause 60hz monitor refresh rate is the biggest drawback of any system i think.

Im not sure if it "only" turns down the threshold but it doesnt remove all of the acceleration.

You can check the values in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Mouse prior and after adjustement and see what it does, but whats more important is that the setting does not completely remove the acceleration.

I'm asking, what's your basis for knowing that there's other acceleration in place after turning precision off?

Because it impacts the sensitivity.

I had the same problem and this is how it worked for me:
1. Mouse precision - off.
2. Vertical sync - off.
3. Noforce commands and freq (-noforcemaccel -noforcemparms -freq 75).
4. I run hl.exe in windows XP SP3 compatibility mode.
(i think the last one was crucial)

I use the Razer DeathAdder mouse, the customiser application has an option to disable mouse acceleration in Windows and this works a treat, but is of course limited to people with a Razer mouse.
In cs 1.6 I then use the following launch parameters: -console -noforcemaccel -noforcemparms -noforcemspd -freq 75 -bpp 32

I also have mouse precision turned off in Windows and am using 1000Hz polling rate.

I'm not sure about the other games you mention.

i have this problem also... its like a slight acceleration or skip for me... i play cs 1.6 with -noforcemparms -noforcemaccel -noforcemspd -freq 100 with deathadder 1000hz (on xp this problem wasnt present so i think its a registry problem or needs a driver fix)... im on 2.0 drivers and 1.27 firmware... i submitted a ticket to razer so if neone found the solution post it here...ill post if razer responds with a fix thanks
