Hi everyone. New to the forum so I'm not sure how it's done, but I'm having a bunch of problems with Windows 7 and I need some advice. I upgraded from Vista 64 to Windows 7 64-bit and the same problems still exist. It used to happen once a month but now its happening everyday. It just blue-screened on me when typing this 10 minutes ago, like it knows or something... Anyway, I know I have a bunch of memory dump files somewhere, I'm not sure how to show them to yous all tho

I'm getting the most:

IRQL Driver Not Equal Too or Less

and

System Service Exception

My minidump folder is locked and it says I don't have permission to access. I'm sorry, I'm new to Vista/7, I just got it 6 months ago. I'm the only owner of this comp and there's no other account but mine. How do I unlock it?

If you can open the folder (double click it), then right click on your dump files and chose send to desktop (you are not allowed to do anything with them directly).

If you cannot open the folder, try this: Take Ownership of file - Vista Forums

I followed all the steps in the your link, I can open my minidump folder but there is still a locked symbol on it. I can't upload a dump file even though my user account has full control of everything, (it still says I don't have permission), even when I send them to the desktop. When I make a copy of them, move them to a custom folder, and try to upload them from there, the window on the forum says "invalid file" even though its the same ".dmp" file extension. Is there a way I can change the ext. so I can upload it? I don't know where I'm going wrong and I know it's something simple.

Skyvipers, you are doing it right. You just need to zip the dump file up to a .zip, then upload it.
