Windows 7 - Multiple BSOD's - Help needed!

Hey guys,

I am having trouble with Windows Vista Ultimate and I have tried a few things to solve the problem and have also searched the net and forums for answers and ideas but have not yet been able to stop my computer from randomly crashing.

I keep getting the the following Blue Screen

Problem signature:
Problem Event Name: BlueScreen
OS Version: 6.1.7600.2.0.0.256.1
Locale ID: 3081

Additional information about the problem:
BCCode: d1
BCP1: 00000000
BCP2: 00000002
BCP3: 00000001
BCP4: F0FBEA1A
OS Version: 6_1_7600
Service Pack: 0_0
Product: 256_1

But BCP4 varies with each crash.

At first i thought the problem was ESET Smart Security 4 as the firewall was damaged after I upgraded to Vista. So i reinstalled ESET and now it is working fine but i still got the Blue Screen.

i then read in a forum that my Intel Network Card may be the source of the problem so i then updated the driver to a Windows 7 driver. And I am yet to see if this has solved the problem.

I attempted to analyze the mindump files but being a noob at using debugger I couldnt load the symbols. So i was wondering if someone would be able to analyse the attached mdmp files and tell me what the problem is. It would be much appreciated

Your machine may be experiencing more than one distinct problem. There's reason to suspect the following drivers are involved:

Image path: \SystemRoot\System32\Drivers\L6TPortA.sys
Timestamp: Fri Oct 24 09:39:52 2008 (4900FD38)

"Line 6 TonePort" somethingorother? Some type of audio recording solution apparently.

Image path: \SystemRoot\system32\DRIVERS\epfwwfp.sys
Timestamp: Thu Mar 19 21:28:11 2009 (49C21E3B)

Image path: \SystemRoot\system32\DRIVERS\epfw.sys
Timestamp: Thu Mar 19 21:28:12 2009 (49C21E3C)

And those two above are apparently ESET. In all cases, try updating the relevant product & driver to the latest version, and if that doesn't help post more minidumps. You may end up needing to complain to the developers, especially if the product in question wasn't free.

yeah the problem there lies in the fact that Line 6 has only released a beta driver for Windows 7 but i have installed it and i will see if it makes any difference. Other people have been complaining about BSOD's in Windows 7 in Line 6 Forums.

But yeah im not sure what to do about ESET as i have the very latest version. i may have to look into an alternative.

I share your pain - literally - regarding sh###y drivers from audio kit companies

It's almost like some of them would really rather you just bought their newest wares instead of demanding driver updates for stuff that's more than 6 months old. Huh! They're artistes! Not craftspeople! It's a damn nuisance that they should be forced to write drivers at all! Why can't you just give them your money - and then go away?

haha i hear you! but guess what ive installed the beta driver and replaced ESET with a combination of Avast and Comodo Firewall. Smoothing sailing my friend. Thanks for your help
