Hello recently I experienced a problem in my Win7 version that may be related to Comodo antivirus or not. I have this machine for over 2 years without problems and always with Comodo antivirus. 2 days ago I updated the AMD drivers and Comodo antivirus version and after restart I noticed huge lag. The computer is much slower ... and the graphics are not as sharp as used to be. THEN and THEN is when things go crazy ....when I try to disable and / or uninstall the Comodo over the windows tools it says that it cannot access the service Windows Installer.

I no longer have access to the internet, even when I restart in Safe mode.

when I try to recover from installation CD W7 pro, it says that it cannot obtain informations about the HD of the computer.
I can open any program except windows functionalities like Update or Firewall ...gives error code 0x80070422

Even when I disable everything in Comodo the problem still remains.

The questions is why the windows installation CD does not overrun over all that and allows to make a recover system?

thanks for all th epossible help

I performed an Windows Experience Index and gives a message saying that is impossible to evaluate WEI , the error may be due to system or driver failure.

I would uninstall Comodo which we only see problems with here for all five years of Win7. If necessary boot into Safe Mode to uninstall it in Control Panel.

Then after reboot install Microsoft Security Essentials which is nearly unanimously recommended here for adequate protection and nearly zero problems. Update and run a Full Scan.

If necessary because these actions are being blocked I'd also run a full scan with Malwarebytes in Safe Mode installed from flash stick, and if that's blocked run a bootable AV scan from FREE Bootable AntiVirus Rescue CDs Download List

Next run SFC /SCANNOW Command to see if System Files have been damaged. If it fails again then boot into System Recovery Options to run SFC /SCANNOW Run in Command Prompt at Boot. You may need to run it several times to repair any.

If you cannot connect to your network, rightclick the network icon in bottom-right System Tray to Troubleshoot.

If all of this fails, you can also try to System Restore to a point before the updates were done causing this problem, then immediately uninstall Comodo bloatware and install MSE.

2 days ago I updated the AMD drivers
Did you try to rollback the update to the previous drivers?

Hi,
hello for your help .... I've been using comodo and M. Sec. Ess. together for long years.... this is the first time I experience such a "blocked" . MSE does not asks me for my authorization every-time that a software wants to install something. Comodo asks me that, and have prevented a lot of distress that I experienced before using both.
...having said that .... comodo does should recognize MS windows files that should not block ever ....

as I explained I could not uninstall comodo even from Safe session. The windows or any un-installer would not run at all!

I went inside comodo and selected everything to disable, ...did not work as well...
I did try several things that did not work ...
the ONLY thing that fixed was when I went to Network Security policy and removed everything from Application rules and Global rules ..... at same time I disabled Comodo from start and rebooted .... problem solved. I uninstall Comodo and this time the uninstaller worked fine.
Now even if it was my mistake (pressed block before reading the message) and I did tell Comodo to block one file by mistake that open out just before the problems started, then I must be nuts with Comodo and the abnormal control over Win system files .... I could not even run defragmentation, performance check, Update, Internet was disconnected, Uninstall etc even in Safe mode !! .... bizarre that even installation CD could not overcome some of these problems!!!

I noticed that was not the AMD drivers .. they were working fine ....just coincidence that I blocked that file at same day.

Thanks for your promptly reply .... I love Win7 pro ... very reliable, first problem in 4 years ... I have it in 3 machines and 2 other with Win8. I would trade Both Win 8 copies for a bad Win 7.
W7 for ever.
