Windows 7 network map

Hi I cant not create a network map on win 7 ultimate 64 bit using a Linksys wrt610n and kaspersky 2010 736 build. Ideas?

What other computers are on your home network?

a vaio running windows 7 and also a wireless printer hp c7180

Do you have the "see full map" link in the network and sharing center?

yes thats when it fails

What do you mean by "it fails"? Do you get an error message? It would be helpful if you provided a screen shot of this failure. Use the Windows 7 snipping tool.

I had trouble at first with the network map then discovered a couple of things. First I had to be on a Home network. Otherwise the map wouldnt render.

Second, there are a few services that are required for the network map. If you disable any of them that will also cause a problem. The following should be auto or manual..

Computer Browser, Link-layer topology, Network List

Not sure about Server and Work station as I havent tried disabling those yet. But mine are set to auto.
