I did a clean install of windows 7 a couple of months ago, and it worked well but now everything that has to do with networking is ridiculous slow and unresponsive. Everything else works fine and starts fast.

Here is the list of issues
1. Takes up to 10 minitues after boot for the "connect to" menu to finally show. You know the little icon on the taskbar.

2. Networking and Sharing center main page takes up to 5 mins to load no matter what i'm doing or how long the computer has been on. Alot of the time it will completely freeze and become unresponsive.

3. Properties and Status for the network connections, takes long time to show up no matter how long the computer has been on. Properties menu will also become unresponsive for up to 7 mins.

Thanks for reading

This type of problem is usually related to the type of A/V "anti virus" or from a third party firewall. You will most likely need to uninstall which ever A/V or third party firewall you have running to resolve the issue.

You really should be running an Anti-virus program, you just may be infected and that's causing everything to slow down.

Download MSE (free) http://www.microsoft.com/security_essentials/
Update and run a "full" scan. MSE will disable the stand-alone Windows Defender. The same program is built into MSE.

You should also have an anti-spyware program running.
Download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware to your desktop
|MG| Malwarebytes Anti-Malware 1.45 Download
* Double-click mbam-setup.exe and follow the prompts to install the program.
* At the end, be sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
* If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
* Once the program has loaded, select Perform full scan, then click Scan.
* When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
* Be sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
