Hi,

Im running Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit. Just 5 minutes ago i wanted to start up my PC. I came at the login windows and choose my user account. I entered the password, its in front of me on paper, but windows did not recognize this password. I tried with my admin account, also no go with its unique password. I restarted the system and then i was able to login. What happenend?

Could be anything from a keyboard that wasnt plugged in correctly to driver that conflict, to a memory problem etc.

If it doesnt happen again dont worry about it

Well, i have a Logitech G110 and it was plugged in correctly. I also saw the dots appearing. No, windows didnt recognise my password. I unplugged the internet connection and changed both passwords. As we speak im scanning my system thorough with a anti virus scanner. I just hate it when such things happen...

I've had this happen to me a couple of times at work as well. Up until I saw this post I was thinking it might be domain related as occasionally we have issues w/ users not hitting a dc at login and getting a temp profile when running win7. I'm going to assume your machine is not on a domain so it might just be windows itself?

... side note on this, in the last year I've had 3 machines(all win7 ent) that had this happen except the reboot(s) didn't work. Every domain and local account locked out. I had to boot to hirens and reset local admin account and password to get in. Then unjoin and rejoin to the domain to get AD logins working again. :(
