HI - new to the forum and would appreciate anyone's help.

When trying to update install updates to quicktime and thunderbird I get an error saying I don't have permissions to write to the application directory. I have only one user on this PC set to administrator. -

Ran the program but it states it will not work for windows 7 home premium - I also found that note on another forum.

Thanks for the suggestion though.

Just need to right-click on the update executables or the applications in question and select "Run as Administrator" done deal. No need for enabling any other accounts.

Interestingly, programs that need Administrator access usually ask me for it, via the UAC popup. Is this because I have enabled UAC? Can someone please explain this a little deeper?

Thanks!
