Windows 7 Not detecting new hard drive

Im upgrading to windows 7 on a new hard drive and it will not detect my seagate hard drive any help please?

Im upgrading to windows 7 on a new hard drive and it will not detect my seagate hard drive any help please?

The first thing try going into your BIOS and making sure the drive shows there. If you are not sure how to do that, let us know.

I went into diskpart during install and it said i have no drives connected

Check all the cables, unplug & replug all cables.Than recheck BIOS.

I threw in a different sata cable and tried a different port and it still tells me WDC Rom model-hawk and im using a seagate barracuda??

OK so I reset my bios and it didnt help. My HD config is on enhanced S-ATA

Also, you said you changed your sata cable, did you change the power connection from your power supply to the drive as well?

Love using Manjaro KDE Linux 64 bit and Windows 7/10 64 bit
Unplug all other HD's, plug new HD into SATA1.

Next change SATA controller to AHCI. What are the avalable choices?

Do you have the latest BIOS version update?
 
I'm running a Seagate 1TB Barracuda. My bios auto detects new sata devices check if your bios has an auto detect setting.

You can download SeaTools but I can't see much point in proceeding if your BIOS cannot detect the HDD.

Edit: I was thinking of upgrading my HDD firmware to CC46 I think after reading this I won't bother! There may be something here that helps you
