Windows 7 not working

Hi guys,
I got an Acer computer. When I switch it on, it warms up normally but when I click on any icon to start anything, it doesn't work. I tried to start in safe mode but even then, when I click any icon to launch any task, it just doesn't work. I even put my windows 7 disc to reinstall the windows 7 system but I just can't because when I click on the icon to launch it nothing happens. Can somebody please tell me how to sort it this out ?

What is the complete model number please. You should be able to use the built-in Recovery partition to restore to factory new state.
