Windows 7 Nvidia Display driver

OK, if *all* your games are hanging, then it sounds like your video card is overpowering your CPU - nVidia drivers (the non WDDM anyway) will put the cad in a low power draw mode since 1.75.xx and when you run your game all of a sudden it tries to jump up in power by readjusting all the clocks back to rated speeds - which is a major power draw.

I'd check another card and/or check that card in another OS again....

If it is not related to the card in anyway, Then I'd suggest a fresh install of W7....

My CPU? Do you mean my PSU? That's not it - solid PSU.

Maybe a wipe versus an upgrade. I wiped all of the drivers, started with the WDDM drivers, and then the nVidia-provided drivers on their web site. No go.

Yeah, fingers flying faster than the brain then - I meant PSU - but if it isn't your PSU and it isn't the drivers, I'd check out the card itself then....

Something somewhere ain't right....

I just installed the 181.25 drivers - and the installation screen said "Windows 7 (64bit) driver installation...."

I *do* get a better WEI with WDDM drivers, but I get a better frame rate in GTA:IV with the 181 driver - so I think you can guess which one wins







Have you tried reinstalling WOW from scratch?

That is great. GTA IV crashes within 5 minutes of playing on my machine

wddm1.1 drivers.

When I had 8600gt sli game still crashed but usually recoved. I will try NVIDIAs latest drivers and if that doesn't work then its probably 470W PSU.

(Update) I installed latest Nvidia windows 7 drivers and GTA IV stopped crashing

Im unable to load World of warcraft

Now I'm not tryin to be ugly or anything but if you'd start your own thread it makes it easier to help 1 at a time. thanks. @Robiduff Sometime with the laptop video cards you need to modify the .inf file to get thm to work properly using the laatest driver for your card from Nvidi ahttp://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us Then by following this sites instructions on the mod you should have a fully working driver NVIDIA MobilityModder - HardwareHeaven.com
