I've been trying to install Windows 7 on my HP Mini 1101 netbook, but after trying several methods described via various sites it always ends up the same way in that the installer starts up ok but when it starts to Expand the Windows files it fails & says "setup.exe" is corrupt.
I'm pretty sure that nothing is wrong with the discs since both I've used at given points in time in the past to install Windows 7 on this laptop I'm using now. The flash drive I'm using is brand new (only opened this morning).
Anyone got any ideas to help me pull this off? Thanks.

Couple of Questions for you.
How did you get your install files onto your USB drive?
Is the DVD in good condition? (i.e. no scratches)
Is the DVD an actual Win7 Install Disc or a burned Copy?
You could try using IMGBurn to create an ISO of your Disc and than use the Windows7 USB/DVD Download Tool to transfer that image to either a Blank DVD or a USB Flash Drive. I would recommend the latter as it installs a lot faster. If this is something you've already done than let me know and we'll try something else.

I tried many methods using CMD.exe, the Windows 7 USB/DVD Download Tool, etc

No scratches that I could see

The Windows 7s are burnt copies but the Windows Vista is original

I eventually got through though. I had to delete the existing Windows XP clean off the hard drive (format) 1st & then the Windows 7 went through smoothly.

I'm glad to hear that you got it installed!
To get your install disc onto a dvd you should be able to use that IMGBurn program to convert your install disc to an ISO image and than use the USB/DVD Download tool to select that ISO Image that you created and than select your USB Flash Drive and it will copy all the file to the Flash Drive and make it bootable.
