Windows 7 only caches one Login when disconnected from network/domain

Hi All,

I'm having an issue here at work with the laptops used by workers to take out of the office. As far as I remember, windows has cached the logins for all users on the laptop so long as they have logged into the domain while connected to the network at least once.

It appears that now, windows is only remembering the most recent login - all other users will receive a "There are no logon servers available to service the logon request"

If anyone has any ideas it would be greatly appreciated.

By default all Windows computers should store 10 cached logins. Please check and possible change the value to a higher one and test to see if the issue is resolved - http://support.microsoft.com/kb/172931

If you have many machines then you may wish to push any changes that you make through a startup script using group policy

Thanks! I checked the registry settings and it was set to 10, but I've changed it to 9 just in an attempt to possibly "un-stick" whatever is causing the issue.

Upon the first test, it seems to have sucessfully remembered the two accounts I've done a test with.

I will post back after a few more tests have been made.

No worries, we will do our best to help. I will be honest I do not entirely know why the default did not allow multiple login caches.
