hello, i am really confused about which system to get 7 or 8? i bought windows 7 about a few months ago. service pack 1, i haven't installed it yet 'because i am still using XP a the moment , which has a lot of viruses on it, so i'm just waiting for it run into the ground and die. anyway, win 8 seems too complicated to handle , win 7 is more easy to get around, simple and (it has a start button. and it was designed for touch screen, right?). and is there a way to make the win 8 desktop look more like win 7's ? also will i miss out on future upgrades and apps, systems etc, by not getting win 8 ? thanks a lot

Hello Soulfood,

If you like, you can get a free 90-day evaluation copy of Windows 8 Enterprise to install and play with to see how you like it before deciding to purchase a copy of whatever edition of Windows 8 you want.

The desktop is still the same in Windows 8 as in Windows 7. It's just that Windows 8 starts up to the "Start" screen after signing in first instead of the desktop. You would then just select the desktop tile to go to the desktop in Windows 8.
If you like, you can add the Start Menu and button back to the taskbar in Windows 8. The free "Classic Shell" program is a good choice for this.
Hope this helps, :)
Shawn
