Why don`t you just re install windows or if it has a recovery partition, use that.

If you re install windows use the key on the COA for activation, and all the drivers for the pc can be found at Dell.

Get the network (ethernet) drivers before you start, you`ll have to install them later to get online.

Thanks for the reply .At least I can do that as a last resort all the numbers are there.

The PC has been loaded with some great software and I guess I would loose all that .I can use the Kon boot each time I turn on .Is there a way to make a new admin account as the instructions on kon boot says ?
Thanks John.

Do you think I would waste my time posting a problem on this forum if I could ask the seller the password.
I was conned by the seller I thought i would get some sensible help .Lets see I will go back to the empty field and go to the part of the field where the tyre marks are and say "do you know the password " Mr seller.
I expected more help .

So if you can get in, then create a new Admin account, and please don`t create another password, they are useless, then log out, then login with your new account and delete the one you don`t want.

Doesn`t work then do as I suggested earlier, who cares about software, you can get that anywhere.

Why would you want a pc loaded up with someone else`s garbage, do it right ;)

And Plus 2, be more respectful to the members here, and watch what you say to the them or you will quickly get banned.

David was just giving you a suggestion, no need to be smart.

Hi AddRAM
You have just mentioned "So if you can get in, then create a new Admin account,".
Could you offer any help on how to "get in". I posted the original question hoping for a reason why what I was doing wrong re command prompt etc.
Sorry its my choice if I want to keep other peoples software. Once I am I can of course remove garbage but the latest Office and Photo Shop and the Security software thats loaded to me are worth keeping until as I said the last resort.
David honestly I found your comment condescending in fact I thought it was a wind up ,perhaps it was lost in the big divide.
Once again any help most welcome. John.

"Using KON boot I am now able to get in"

This is what you said, so I thought you were in windows, Good Luck.

It`s actually against forum rules to help people with passwords, I gave you my suggestion, Have a Nice Day.

Sorry to the Forum .I understand about Passwords.

To be fair I had got past the password issue it cost $1 .
I was asking about becoming administrator to save pressing F12 and booting from CD each time I switch on .
Keep up the good work .
Many thanks John.

net user administrator/active:yes . Thats not working .

THere's a space before the slash.

that has to be run using an elevated command prompt then it will work

unzip the shortcut, open it then paste the following exactly

net user administrator /active:yes

as in the screen grab. dont forget to press enter. logoff and you should see the administrator on the logon window
