windows 7 pics restoration

I deleted some movies and pics on 26, but someone restored my pc to an earlier date. i am not at home and i would like to know if those movies and pics will return to my pc?

I believe System Restore only restores programs and system files, not documents

You will have a much higher chance of recovery if the machine is not used until you attempt recovery.

Otherwise you run the risk of not being able to recover data as the blocks/sectors that contain fragments of the deleted data are written over by new data.

Every new 'write' operation has the potential to write new data onto areas the OS is 'told' that are safe to write to since those sectors have now been flagged as empty.

If this someone used Windows System Restore, then your personal files should be unaffected and should still be intact, right where you left them.

If this someone used another program, such as an imaging program, then you have problems because that likely overwrote your files.

If you have a restore point from before you deleted them, you can recover them with Shadow Explorer. Just navigate to the appropriate restore point and then to the files, right click on the file and Export it back into your system. In case you need more help, here is a tutorial that I fabricated a long time ago. But it is basically still valid.
