Windows 7 Pro 64bit BSOD Firefox video playback

Update: Here is the LATEST 'Seven Forums' file.
Again, it is NOT copying the latest Event Logs in the 'Dump' and 'Minidump' folders and I REALLY don't know why that is. I erased the older 'Seven Forums' folders and I STILL get the same 4 'Dump' results. YES I waited until it said "Press any key to continue" and then I did press any key.

BSODs fixed, i think. But never misses the chance to crash a game I'm running via Steam
The Seven Forums - system.txt file shows that you're having issues with either your hard drive or the controller that controls it (on the motherboard).

I cannot recall - have you run these hardware diagnostics?
H/W Diagnostics:
Please start by running these bootable hardware diagnostics:
Memory Diagnostics (read the details at the link)
HD Diagnostic (read the details at the link)

If not, please run them now.

If so (and they passed), then I'd start by replacing the chipset drivers on your motherboard. If that doesn't fix it, then I'd have to suspect a problem with the motherboard itself.

In that case, please run this free test:
Try this free stress test: Free Software - GIMPS
Prime95 Setup:
- extract the contents of the zip file to a location of your choice
- double click on the executable file
- select "Just stress testing"
- select the "Blend" test. If you've already run MemTest overnight you may want to run the "Small FFTs" test instead.
- "Number of torture test threads to run" should equal the number of CPU's times 2 (if you're using hyperthreading).
The easiest way to figure this out is to go to Task Manager...Performance tab - and see the number of boxes under CPU Usage History
Then run the test for 6 to 24 hours - or until you get errors (whichever comes first).
The Test selection box and the stress.txt file describes what components that the program stresses.

Got a BSOD 10mins into running Prime95 test with Google Chrome open with one tab (this website) where i was trying to ask how long the test should run. Could it be because i had the test running along with Google Chrome that the system encountered an error during the test? Here are the results. I'll run another test without having any unnecessary programs open.

How many hours should i run this test? should i be worried about heat issues? I am running "8 torture tests" because my CPU is a quad-core.

It depends on how you were running the test - but it indicates a hardware problem.
What were the results of the hardware tests that I recommended?

As for how long to run the test - please read, completely, the instructions that I posted in my previous post.

Ok I'm back with more accurate results because I let the test run with nothing else in the background. Some of my CPU cores failed to run the test whereas others held out for more than 9hours of testing in which case I stopped the test because instructions said 6-24hrs. Here are the results.

If you've run the hard drive and memory tests - then this only leaves a couple of other components. The most likely would be the motherboard or CPU.

So, now you'll have to remove everything from the system with the exception of:
- case
- PSU
- mobo
- CPU, cooler and fan
- 1 stick of RAM
- hard drive
- video card
- mouse and keyboard
- monitor

Then run the Prime95 test again. If it fails, then it's one of the components that's left.
If that's the case - then start replacing the components one-by-one until you find the bad one.

Sorry I didnt reply on time, i was away on holiday with no internet.

Not sure i understood what you were saying. You're saying that I should restart the Prime95 test again with 1stick of RAM? Sorry if I'm not getting it.

EDIT: Just on a side note. The last time I got a BSOD was because I was running Prime95 on Blend mode with 8 torture tests and I was browsing on Chrome on this website replying to threads. But i think thats because i was pushing my CPU beyond it's limits. But the last time i got PROPER BSODx was a few weeks ago when i was watching a video on IGN.com using Firefox.

Usamsa is suggesting you pull all but one stick of ram and re-running the tests described.

With just the mentioned components attached if something fails you can narrow the list down.

If you push your cpu beyond its limit it should not Blue screen

If you are blue screening you should have DMP files. Haave yoou done a search for *.DMP?

^Thanks for the simplification. I shall re-run the same torture tests again. The thing is, the test doesn't completely fail if you read my older posts. I have 8 different tests running at the same time. Some threads fail while others hold out until I stop them after 9hrs of testing overnight. Please check my older posts and take a look at my .DUMP files, i have them all uploaded including my last Prime95 test results. Once more, I'll post back with an update.

UPDATE: Ran the Prime95 test again with one stick of RAM in the same slot and encountered errors where 3 threads out of 8 stopped working, but this time the tests on those stopped threads managed to successfully complete 2 tests as opposed to 0 successful ones like before when the 2nd stick of RAM was in. Bare in mind i only ran the test for a total of about 30mins as opposed to before for 9hrs straight. Here are the results:

Note that I'm running a test in a bit with the RAM i pulled out and pulling out the other one. Maybe i'll be alternating the slots in which I put them in later on.

While prime does a great job we/I use memtestx86 instead. It gives more definitive results. It either gives no errors (clean mem) or pukes and dies.

I would also run a system file check to verify your OS files
(tyep cmd in search>right click and run as admin>sfc /scannow)

If memtest and sfc clears, then we can get aggressive.

I have a new problem now. After I tried installing my RAMs in my motherboard again, and i start the system, I get a loud beep sound and nothing comes up on the screen only black but the fans and everything appears functional. I retried installing my RAMs firmly until the snaps click without forcing it and YES i switched off the PSU power and the power socket on the wall before installing and uninstalling RAM but i still get that loud beep noise at start up with nothing on screen. Please please help.

Note that the beep is a continuous long beep noise with no video output.

ASUS P7P55D EVO

It's just one continuous long beep sound. please refer to my system specs under "My System Specs"

From what I read, a long beep sound on ASUS motherboards or any other motherboard is that it doesn't detect RAM. I tried properly installing them but i still have this new problem now and i dont know what else to do.

Note that i did press and hold the 'MemOK' button on motherboard to see if it will work but the noise persists and the 'MemOK' LED is still flashing which i think indicates that the memory is not detected by the motherboard. I also tried a different DIMM slot but same problem. It was working fine but i just took out the RAM to test and see whether my PC problem is because of memory corruption or not, but after i tried reinstalling them back on I get this problem. From one problem into another. The funny part is that I haven't encountered BSODs as frequently as I used to, only somewhat annoying problem was the occasional Counter Strike Source, L4D2, ZP Source crash to desktop that I haven't been encountering lately. Don't know what else to do. I'm afraid if the RAM is damaged (although I've been extremely careful and did everything my Asus User Guide told me to do even though it wasn't much help), dont know if the RAM golden finger is dirty, if the DIMM slots are dirty, if I damaged the DIMM slots, if i need to clear CMOS (dont even know how to do that), whether or not i will encounter more frequent BSODs than before because of switching around RAMs and whatnot,......there's a million questions now.

Well an update, I took necessary action and took my PC to a technician and he claimed that the power connector for my GPU was unplugged completely. Found it to be very strange because i quadruple checked to see that everything was firmly seated and connected before i started up my PC, i guess sometimes one can tend to miss the simplest yet most crucial details. He's also going update my BIOS along with any other driver that needs updating thereby running some stability and benchmark tests to see whether or not i have any hardware issues. If i have any hardware issues I will begin RMAing the faulty stuff. Will post back with more updates until the issue is HOPEFULLY resolved then this thread can surely be closed down.

Back with an update, for anyone still following this, PC technician ran memtest + Prime95 and other tests and confirmed that my RAMs were faulty and everything else ran smoothly. also updated my BIOS so that should come in handy since the ASUS motherboards latest updates come with a full/better support for low-voltage RAMs, which is what i have, so THAT should put things at a more stable state i hope. Still waiting for a response from OcUK in request of an RMA for the RAMs...

it will probably be a while before i post with an update with new RAM modules, if they give me new ones. Mailing delivery system here is abysmally sloooow =/
