Hi Guys,
I have looked thru the forums briefly, so i'm not totally sure if this question has already been asked.
I have a new Dell laptop, with it came a Dell branded Windows 7 Pro installation disc.
All i want to do is make a copy/back up of that disc. I have tried several ways, including using the Microsoft USB/DVD download tool for authoring to DVD disc or USB drive.
I have managed to create a copy on my 8GB Kingston Traveler drive but would much prefer to have it backed up on DVD disc, but thats where the problem starts.
The ISO will not fit onto any DVDs i have, the ISO is around 4.7GBs but my DVDs are 4.38GB. Using dual layer discs is NOT supported.
I also note that the Dell branded Windows 7 disc is multilanguage which is probably adding the extra bloat.
Anyone have any ideas or suggestions please?
Regards
Markkyboy

It sounds like your DVD has both 32 and 64 bit versions.. if so, you could extract each version to a folder and then burn them to a separate DVD ... Let us know.. ;)

It sounds like you may also have another, unrelated issue. Those discs are not copy protected, so you should be able to make a backup copy without any issue, to a standard DVD-R.

Thanks guys.
@ Tews - I think your idea of my Windows disc containing both 32 and 64 bit versions is very probable, however, i don't actually know how to extract the different versions - Is this something you do manually or do you know of any softs that can do the job for me?

Mark
Meanwhile, i'll ask my ol m8 Google :)

EDIT:
I've sorted it, basically created new but emtpy cab files in the Language Packs folder, making the ISO 3.61GB, so only UK and US languages are available.
Have done a clean install to test, everything went fine.
