Hey there! Been having some trouble installing windows 7 and need some assistance.

I recently downloaded windows 7 from my MSDNAA e-academy. When it finishes downloading and starts unpacking, at the very beginning the progress bar is stuck on the very first bar of "checking file CRC"

I've downloaded it twice now and got the same thing both times.

All of my systems still run fastest on XP 32-bit for the most part. Win7 is fun to play with, but I still prefer XP for raw speed, security, and functionality.

I let it sit there for about half and hour and nothing happened.

Sounds like a corrupted download on each occasion. Or your hard drive is storing it on bad blocks. Check your event log for anything suspicious. If nothing, redownload and try another time. Save to another HDD if possible.

windows 7 msdn download fix

it is a MS **** up the fil is missing 200mb
you can download them from here http://ftp.sh.cvut.cz/MSDNAA/Rapid_Setup

then find en_windows_7_professional_x64_dvd_X15-"XXXXX".02.sdc the same number as the one you downloaded from msdn.

then in a console copy /b en_windows_7_professional_x64_dvd_X15-65805.01.sdc+en_windows_7_professional_x64_dvd_X15-65805.02.sdc 3.sdc
then rename the 3.sdc to en_windows_7_professional_x64_dvd_X15-65805.01.sdc
restart the MS downloader then it will do the crc check and unpack the iso
