Ok, I am new to this forum and might be on the wrong section of the site, and if so, moderators can move this to approriate place.

So, yesterday after I had to reinstall steam, was overthinking and didnt go to control panel to uninstall it so, I googled, Steam Reinstall and went to the site (Cleanly reinstalling Steam - Valve Developer Community) I proceeded till step 9, I deleted the first mentioned folder, but the second one I failed at, I tryed to delete the whole Wow6432Node folder, instead of the Valve folder, so it gave me an error, wich I didn't read (-.-) and it didnt delete, so I thought it was wierd, and proceeded to the next step, wich was restart. So after restart, it goes to the logging screen, to choose accounts, but it gets stuck there. So It wont let me choose wich account to take (got 2), it just gets stucks there, and it looks like it refreshes/reloads the screen.

I tryed to repair from installation disk, but without a luck. Is there anything I can do to save the files/get the OS working again?

Help is appriciated! :)

Boot into safe mode and do a system restore to a point before your problem started.. This will show you how to do a System Restore to restore your Windows 7 system files to an earlier point in time. It's a way to undo system changes to your computer without affecting your personal files, such as e‑mail, documents, or photos.

Hello Anecdote, and welcome to Seven Forums.

Try Option Two in the System Restore link above to do a System Restore at boot instead to see if that may work instead.

Hope this helps,
Shawn

Hi Shawn!

When I try to do that, it gives me an error like this:

"To use System Restore, you must specify which Windows installation to restore.

Restart this computer, selecent an OS and then select system restore"

I assume this points towards going from OS itself, wich in this case is impossible, however, when I boot from the disk, and go to the installation setup, and then when I skip the installing the OS, and I put that I want to repair my computer, it goes to the system restore, and It says if I haven't got a earlier time&date to go, I can do it now, but it gives me an error like this:

"The version of System Recovery Options is not compatible with the version of Windows you are trying to repair. Try using a recovery disc that is compatible with the version of Windows."

So since I have the installation disc on my CD drive bay, should I use a recovery drivers on an USB stick? If so, where can I get the drivers and can they be put correctly on Macs, since I have the households only PC.

Thank you! :)
