I hope someone can help, I have had on going problems installing windows 7 64 bit professional and yes I do have a 64 bit processor so it is compatible , its a full version straight from a retail store. When I try to do a custom install with a brand new hard drive I get error codes after 5% or 10% of downloading it comes up the error is "windows cannot install required files are missing please make sure all files required for installation are available error ox80070037 " This is driving me crazy I have tried sooo many things I have changed the hard drive, I have changed the disc its self, I have changed the ram, I have even installed a windows 7 ultimate version but its not a registered version but it installed fine, does anyone have any suggestions at all I am very very frustrated at this point.... Please help......I am not sure but I was told that it only has to be your processor that is compatible not the motherboard is that correct ??? I did run that compatibility test thing and my computer passed with flying colours.

Hi,

Welcome to 7 forums :)

Need not panic. We will assist you with the issue.

* I see that you have changed the installation disk. I need to know, if you have a purchased copy of the Windows ?

* Did you make a new copy from the same source?

boo:

Please fill in your System Specs completely so we can look into your Hardware.

For a 64 bit OS to work you will need 64bit drivers for all HW in your PC, who is the manufacturer of your MB?

Have you done a format of the drive since you tried the Win7 Ultimate that worked? I am also assuming that Ultimate was a 32 bit version?

Please help us help you....

I am leaning more to looking at the new hard drive. Do you have any other drives installed?

When you started the install, did you partition the drive? Did it give you a 100mb partition and did you make sure and not select it for the install?

couple of quick questions

Are you overclocking?
how much ram? when installing sometimes it is nec to pull all but 1 gig.
In bios there may be several settings. max memory, max cpu, and legacy floppy support. if present they should all be unchecked.
If you purchased the disc, how did you change it?

Hey guys thanxs for getting back to me ok lets start with my motherboard is a bio-star G31-M7 TE nothing that special it supports a dual core e5200 processor I have a 1TB seagate hard drive and yes I replaced it already once thinking it was my hard drive and same problem. I have 4 gigs of ram and the disc I changed they wouldn't repalce the package cuz thats where the product key was so they just replaced the disc. No I am not overclocking. Yes I did try to install the new disc on the old hard drive and would not install but yet the Ultimate did ??? and it is a 64 bit ultimate version. I have even tried to disable my floppy drive and controller in the bios and it went as far as 35% and then that same stupid error message came up yet again. Yes my copy is a purchased copy.

Somewhat painful, but try installing from a USB Flash drive if you have one 4GB or larger. See here: Install Windows 7 from USB Flash

Also ...

WinToFlash is a utility that will create a bootable USB Flash Drive (UFD) for us in installing Windows XP, Vista or Windows 7 on a computer that does not have a working CD/DVD drive but does support booting from a USB device.

I've not used it but have read where others were successful with it.

The setup.exe file is what you run if you have the files on your hard drive.

Well, you have the file. Insert the DVD, and open it, not run it. Setup.exe is right there.

But what are you trying to do? What do you need help with?
