Hallo Win7Geeks,

Please help me guys to come outta this crazy Windows boot problem. It goes like this, whenever I Power-ON the machine, the boot screen doesn't come up at all, it simply goes to the blank screen state all the times and nothing happening from there. But when you keep on pressing F10 after Power-ON, the boot screen comes up and then Windows boots normally but it is not consistent and lot of times it also fails to boot the machine:(.

In addition, Windows 7 scans the disk drive C for consistency all the times but it says it can't Autochk the disk because of some recently installed software package, please use system restore...with some error info.

Couple of Errors I get (in Event Viewer) all the time after I boot my machine:
1. Event 4, sptd, Driver detected an internal error in its data structures for...
2. Event 7026, The following boot-start or system-start driver(s) failed to load: KLIM6 sptd

Also if you press the Hibernate button, then the screen immediately goes Blank without any text like Windows is hibernating, etc...

This boot problem was somehow presented even with my previous Windows Vista Ultimate as well, but not all the times it failed to boot. May be I should have done a clean install instead of this messy Upgrade:mad:.

Could his be some driver problem or Harddrive issue or 7100 build? Thanks a million in advance guys:).

Best regards,
San.

You have a hard drive issue.

You may be able to use it for a bit longer if you do a low-level format and then run a scandisk program to mark bad sectors.

I would not. All hard drives will fail. Yours is.

Do you have Kaspersky Antivirus installed?

@ Antman, I checked with HD Tune 3.5 version, it shows my Hard drive is in good condition, not even a single red dot, however, I will surely look into this.

@ Jacee, Yes precisely, I use Kaspersky Internet Security 2009 version.

Uninstall it for the time being, and install Avira Antivirus (free) ... see if you still get the BSOD

Also, if you have Daemon Tools, stop the program from loading at startup.

@ Jacee, I have uninstalled both the programs but the boot problem still persist. I guess, my problem occurs even before Windows coming into the picture. Unless if you keep on pressing F10 (even with this, 2-3 failed attempts to bring the boot), you can't even see the HP logo at the startup, its simply goes blank and keep on restarting itself.

Actually the only thing that went fine after uninstalling both the programs, chkdsk ran once and diskchk not coming anymore. Damn, dunno when shall I resolve this problem:cry:.

Think I have to go along with Antman .... it is quite possible that it is a hard drive problem.

Dinesh, no issues. BTW, I have actually deleted RC 7100 build from my machine but have got 7600 RTM build. Is it possible to repair 7100 build using 7600? Thanks.
