Windows 7 RC - Cannot find CD/DVD device driver?

i have installed this on a laptop with no problem. i'm trying to install this on a desktop and i'm getting an error message about the missing device drivers. it boots to it so why cant it see it.

specs are in.

its a factory compaq presario the hdd crashed it had xp home trying to install win 7. i nstalled this on a laptop with no problem.

on the desktop it it boots to it and then it gives the error that it needs the cd/dvd device drivers. which does not make sences because it boots to it.

I have the same issue why does windows 7 x64 tries to install the drivers instead of instaling windows 7 first! it says can't find the driver of cd/dvd during the installation process while it has been booted up from the same dvd drive huh

i got around it.
i have tried to install this on another computer i made a bootable thumb driver and the mother board does not support it. but it installed correctly with an older player. the dvd player i had was a hp 740 and after reading everyone has troubles with it.

which it does not make sense. it will boot to it and read from it but when installing it would not read it. kinda stupid if you ask me.

I noticed that there was no real solution to this issue, as all the advice seems to be pointing to (in my experience) the wrong direction.
