Windows 7 RC problems with CCCP!

Hey guys! I'm new to these forums so please forgive me if I'm posting in the wrong section. I just did a fresh install of Windows 7 RC 64-bit today and WMP played just about every video I tried perfectly with no tweaking needed. Unfortunately, WMP couldn't play .mkv files so I tried installing CCCP hoping that that would remedy the issue. After installing CCCP, videos that WMP could play pre-CCCP flawlessly now flicker while playing. (as in the lighting flickers and not the video itself flickering) I tried uninstalling CCCP but the light flickering still persists in videos played on WMP. WMP Classic is able to play all my videos perfectly including .mkv with CCCP installed but I'd really like to get WMP working properly again. Any advice, suggestions, or related links would be MUCH appreciated. Thanks a lot in advance.

I just tried doing a system restore to a point prior to the CCCP install and I'm still getting light flickering in videos played with WMP and it's driving me crazy! At this point, I'd be happy to just get back to the original codecs and performance on WMP that I had initially after installing Windows 7 RC. Please, does anyone know how to revert back to the original codecs used? I'd REALLY appreciate it.
