Hi.

I believe that your "expiration" time just means when will the Win7 start shutting down every 2h...
That doesn't mean your Win7 is fake, just that you'll have to install "real" Windows 7 then
(or at least I've read something similar somewhere)

Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

I think you are right, but why is my expiredate different from what Microsoft says officially? I think this is odd.

no idea mate... sorry :(

But It might be that that shutting down your PC every 2h might be just the start and it gets worse later untill june 2010 you won't be even able to start Windows. Which means you'll have to buy it :D

This has already been answered by me at this thread http://www.sevenforums.com/news/8200-windows-7-free-year-4.html#post84366 at post#37

which is as follows:
The max date for evaluation period is upto 1st June 2010. you can see it by typing slmgr.vbs -dlv at "Run.." command or at search box. this is as under:

k4hs37lnn4e9fgoivy5.png

as you can see there is 3 rearm count left on that. if rearm is availed then you will again extend the evaluation period for 30 days over 1st March 2010 and 3 rearm means 3 x 30 = 90 days, that means on first rearm extension you will get 1st April 2010, on 2nd rearm-till 1st May 2010 and on 3rd rearm you will get an evaluation expiry date on 1st June 2010.

rearm tool : slmgr.vbs -rearm

My info box looks almost identical, but the Trusted time and the end time are different.
My end time is June 1, 2010

I find that more than adequate, for an RC1, evaluation version.

Long before 2010, I'll want the Full Version.
I'll probably have it before this year is out.
I hope so, anyway.

Cheers mates!

My present understanding is that the evaluation ends in March, while it will cease working in June. It will enter the 2-hour shutdown pattern after March, up until it expires entirely.

Not 100% sure if re-arms would periodically remove the 2-hour shutdown after March or not.

I am pretty sure that neither of us will touch that expiry date of this RC copy on our system. We all of us will have a RTM or final release copy of Windows 7 on our system much earlier.

so why we should think on that side which we will never see or which we do not want to see.

Expect RTM in the month of October and final release on and around 20th Dec 2009.

Thank you. In this my is also 02-06-2010.
The reason I want to know about expiredate is, that I want Windows 7 in my own language (danish), and therefore I can't get it (I think) at the release-day of the english version.

What would happen if you re-armed it now before the March 2010 date.
Would it change the March 2010 date to April 2010 ?
