Windows 7 restarts repeadly

So i installed win7 64bit to my laptop and it worked with out a hich.

Then I installed win7 to my desktop and its went threw the 4 steps.

when it got to the last step (install compleating) it resat the computer as normal.

but when it starts up after the reset it gose

1. windows system rollback (its the same look of menu like when it asks you if you wan't to start in safe mod)

2. says starting windows (i get the 4 colors merging to make the windows logo)

3. it says "The upgrade was not succesful. installing previous version of windose"

Its been doing this loop for awhile now i tried powering down but when i turn it on its just repeats. The version is 7000

Are you upgrading a copy of Vista or are you installing W7 in its own partition? I suggest a clean install in its own partition, especially with a Beta OS. In fact, I recommend a clean install for all OS installations. This avoids problems with incompatible drivers, which I suspect could be the cause of your problem.

but i did back it up before the install to an external hd

Its not

Its stuck in the secend process of installing win7 after it re-starts so i'm past the point of return.

I can get to Bios thow

Oh dear. This happened to me the first time I tried to install W7 (to a separate partition - I never actually upgrade over an existing OS). Fortunately for me, I was able to force the system to boot into Vista, delete the W7 partition and start again. In your case, it seems as though your Vista partition has become corrupt. What I suggest is that you start again. Reinstall Vista and at the appropriate point in setup, create your partitions. Install Vista as normal in the first partition. Repeat the procedure with W7, only this time select the second partition. This is what I did with my system - as you can see I am triple-booting, so I created 3 partitions. You should find that the installation routine goes more smoothly when the OS has its own partition. The problem with upgrading over an existing OS is that various files are overwritten, but the existing OS is still running. In some systems and hardware configurations there is no problem, but in others this can cause problems of varying severity. Note that there is a big difference between this and using an upgrade version to clean install by upgrading over itself - here the files are the same, and so there isn't any problem if individual files are overwritten.

how do i do that exactly? i cant even get the computer to startup..

Can you turn the PC on? Then look for a BIOS key, then move the cd/optical drive, insert the disc and reboot. Your drive should be able to boot from the dvd drive.
