Doubtful. In the last day or so they just emailed the testers who are getting free copies and told them August 6. Anytime MS has announced a specific date for things themselves, they've stuck to it just fine.

Oh, I'm sure it will be released today. I just wanted it to be released while I was at home... My works download is terrible, I pull like 40k from Microsoft! Where as at home, with 20 u/d I pull like 1400 from Microsoft... I wanted to bring it into work today, maybe I can pull some good speeds with my phones 3g...

Not up yet, as of 9:30AM EST. I don't expect it to be up until probably lunchtime, since Redmond is on PST (EST -3Hrs).

I need to check on the dates for the licensing portal as well, but Enterprise hasn't hit.

Mine started out at >500KB/sec but has slowly dropped to around 50KB. It went from a 1 hr download to about 6 hrs. I have a 2.5MB/sec download capability.

Thanks Shawn, when I got up this morning it was not up so I figured by the time I got home from work it would be up and it was and now I am DL it at 525 KB/sec so it will be done soon and then I am going to install it.

A TechNet subscription starts at $349 that is for only DL and then $449 is to get copies sent to you.

so exactly how many activations can you "test" these technet versions on, assuming it is just an individual subscription? I have several older systems I would like to try different versions on. Primarily the professional & enterprise editions.

@ creison Yep, that is the same reg key I have on the official RTM

@ Corpsecrank where do you get $700?? $349 for 12 months, but as has been said elsewhere, there are ways of getting a free technet subscription if you have certain skills, and also ways of getting a free MSDN subscription. Do a bit of searching around and you should find info. You do, of course, have to qualify in certain ways.
