I'm not sure where to ask this, but I noticed that the $319 Windows 7 Ultimate pack says it comes with the 32-bit and 64-bit versions. Does anyone know if this can be reinstalled if a PC is clean-installed at some point, or is it a one-time shot?

Also, any idea how many machines I can put it on if I buy it?

Yes it does come with both, but the key can only be used by either the 32 bit or the 64 bit version, you can not use both version at the same time with the same key, and you can install the full retail version on one PC and reinstall it if you need too.
I hope that helped you.

Yes, thanks to both of you. That did help.
So basically, if I want to install Win7 x64 Ultimate on 2 machines, I've got to buy two copies for $319 each?

It just means you can install either 32 or 64 bit at your preference, not both at the same time on different pcs.
Its still 1 license = 1 PC.

So yes if you want to run it on two machines you will need to buy two copies.

That's 1 computer, 1 key...
True story. With Vista, I had both 32 & 64. I tasked my lawyer to determine and she advised that dual boot does not violate, as it is one license per active machine. It cost me $300 to learn that. Vista was $240.

Man... I'd like to put Ultimate on the three machines in my household, but maybe not now ;)
