See if you can play a CD in the drive. That will tell you if it works. == Does it show up in Disk Management?

If it's detected in BIOS then it's more likely the installer ISO integrity or burn..

Where did you get Win7? Did you burn the DVD yourself?

Confirm ISO or download another, burn to DVD using ImgBUrn at 4x speed.

Next write to flash stick using Universal USB Installer with Win7 in dropdown menu - boot under USB, Removable or HD's. If it errors same, unplug DVD drive.

Reset CMOS: Clear CMOS - 3 Ways to Clear the CMOS - Reset BIOS
While in BIOS setup set SATA controller to AHCI to try install.

Unplug all other HD's and peripherals.

i try the the new cd no luck aad reset of the bois nuthing as well ii wll have try the flash drive tomorrow would use suggest getting a new dvd drive a sata one? insted of a ide one?

Sounds like you have set both drives to MASTER. Check the jumpers.
When using one cable, DVD drive needs to be the SLAVE & the HD drive MASTER.
