Windows 7 screen help

Morning guys----I upgraded to W7 from Vista and when the upgrade was complete my screen shrunk and has 2 inches of space on each side--Yikes. I opened my Lightroom 2.5 program and my pictures are really screwy looking. IS THERE A WAY TO EXPAND THE SCREEN TO FIT THE ENTIRE MONITOR---hope this isn't a stupid question--I searched long to try and figure this out---need expert help---THANK YOU

Try changing your screen resolution from the default 59 to something higher.
