I have 2 accounts(one admin and one limited) I chose a folder which I do not want the limited account to be able to access(read/write).

Went to that folder, security options within its properties, added that user and set every permission to "Deny".

1. when I log in to the limited account and try to double-click on that folder a message appears, the user can enter the admin account or click cancel(of course he won't have permission to access if he cancels) BUT
The problems:

  1. This user can still find files in the restricted directory by searching for their names or metadata.
  2. Even if you enter the admin account in the input line, you don't get access to the files.
I need solutions
*the address bar becomes green when you enter the admin password but it takes too long to see if something actually happens after

Dont think its possible. You can use something like truecrypt for the files and folders you want to hide.

Your number 2. Do you want to have access to those files and folder if you type in the Admin account name and password? If so I think you have to get rid of the Deny setting. Deny is a very powerful setting and does exactly what it says, DENIES that user from ever accessing those files. Be very careful with the Deny setting. Used improperly the next thing you know you will be wiping the HDD and doing a clean install
It is better to just restrict the user from Listing, Viewing, Reading, Writing, Modifying, those files and or folders.
So what if they can see them with a search. If they can't access them to do anything with them the they are secure from prying eyes.

I take it this account that you are trying to restrict is for same other person to use, correct.

Really if it is that important that they never see those files, even just the names, you might want to think about setting up another PC for them to use instead of your main system.
