Windows 7 search only works for arguments in front part of filename?

Hello,
it seems to me that Windows 7 search only works for arguments which occur in the front part of a long filename (less than 100 char's total without path).

Whenever I look for a string in the SAME filename that occurs at the end of the filename, Windows 7 search döesn't seem to find anything.

Does anybody know, what could cause this? Any solutions?

With such long filenames, I'll go out on a limb here and assume that they contain spaces? If my guess is correct, then you need to enclose your search qury inside quotes ("").

For example, this is a long filename must be typed as "this is a long filename".

Hi cazz - I have problems with Windows Search too - You might want to download the excellent free file locater - "Agent Ransack". If I'm looking for any file I'll use Ransack before using Windows Search.

I've been using Agent Ransack (better named to File Locator Lite or Pro) for 6 months now. It is my everyday search engine. It just works at all levels.

"Search Everything" I only use occasionally for certain Admin or maintenance functions. Very powerful and complements Agent Ransack but for me it isn't a substitute.
