I have been trying to install the update windows 7 service pack 1.

First I tried the standard install from windows update
got the error code (800B0100)
clicked (get help with this error hyperlink) in windows update.
downloaded the System Update Readiness Tool? fix from Microsoft
Ran it all installed OK.
Then went and tried the updates again.
Wow still the same error code.
Have disabled Avast Anti-virus, uninstalled malware programs Super anti spyware and Malwarebytes.

Tried another fix downloaded (Fix it) again from windows updates link and installed it all OK
Tried again to update and still getting the same error message

I have also read the post at the address below and as anyone can see I have had the machine protected before giving it access to the internet. I will now rebuild as that seems like the only option left according to post.

I will try and keep this post updated so that if this solves the problem then i hope its of help to others.
