Hi there
First of all, sorry about my bad english, I'm form Latvia.
So, When I install windows 7 or vista from dvd or usb flash drive, I have to wait realy long time ~ 15-20 min till it start setup. I have E8500 processor and 4G of Ram, but my sisters laptop with Dual core 2ghz and 3g of ram setup starts in few seconds, why so? Perhaps because I haven't sata DVD but then why it's so slow with USB flash drive, if useing same flash drive sisters laptop setup starts so fast?
I realy hop you did understood me, I'm realy bad at english :P

Sometimes it takes time. I have that problem with one machine here.

Does it complete the install? That is the true test.

If not, test HD using diagnostics/repair scan HD from the HD maker's Suport Downloads webpage: http://www.tacktech.com/display.cfm?ttid=287

Run memtest86 or Windows Memory Diag. to test memory.

Have you tried flashing the BIOS with newer firmware if available?

MrT,

Were you doing a clean install?

You are correct. The install should not take so much time to get started.

Now you have been asked several different questions. The answers to those questions would be helpful.

i have seen this before and for me it was the same fix, hopefully it works for you.

Go into the BIOS and check to see if your Floppy drive is enabled. if it is and you don't have a floppy drive, change it to Disabled and try the install again.

I've given this out to a few people here and it's worked for them.

Check your current BIOS version on first bootup screen or by entering BIOS setup from first screen.

Compare to BIOS updates given on Downloads page for your mobo.

Follow instructions carefully to update BIOS from Windows (safest). Read the ReadMe, and the Manual sections relating to this. The Manual will be there in downloads, too.

Ask back if you have any questions. You have a lot of suggestions given here and should find a solution amongst them.

I have no Floppy so I have Disabled it long time ago, but can I install it with USB or DVD? Juste extract it on DVD?

Install what? BIOS update?

The safest way to do a BIOS update is to extract it to desktop and run it from Windows, if the instructions will allow you to do this. You need to read the instructions carefully which come with the Update, and in the Manual from the same Download site. Then you will know for sure.

Update that I downloaded have no user manual. also I red that it's not so good idea to update bios from windows?

For ASUS boards you need to download their BIOS utility and use that to update teh BIOS, best way. It's all on the site though. The utility is right under the BIOS update. When you download it it should have a "readme" or instruction with it. FYI, depending on how many hard drives and CD/DVD drives you have, I have seen ASUS BIOS updates reset your boot disk to one htat may not be your boot disk. The boot ORDER stays correct, but it may change the boot disk. Only worry about it if the system won't boot, I just wanted to make you aware so you don't get frustrated if this happens.

What do u sey about this one?

"Asus Update! - This is an online/Windows BIOS flashing tool, and my advice is to stay well away from this.

The number of people that try and use Asus Update and end up with a dead motherboard is incredible, and if you get a really picky retailer, they will tell you that this isn't covered under warranty, and that you need to RMA to Asus, which can take weeks - So don't use Asus Update!"

AND what about my bios settings, will I need to set something in bios settings after flash?

Right, thats why I was saying to download the update tool instead. It should be called AFUDOS Bios update utility. The windows based one can cause that issue I was telling you about earlier.

Your manual is not downloaded with BIOS update, only a ReadMe or other instructions you should study.

Manual is located elsewhere in Downloads and should be read over carefully to understand your mobo or computer.
