Hi there,
I have a desktop running Windows 7 and a laptop running Windows 8, I am also in a homegroup. Now I want to be able to share my hard drive on both computers with each other but not allow anyone else to view it. I would also like to allow read and write access for both computers too.
How can i do this?

You need to make sure both PC's are in the homegroup. I wouldn't necessarily share an entire drive but thats up to you.

You need to ensure both PC's you want to share information are joined to the Homegroup you created. After this you can right click on the folders you want to share and go to "Share With" and then share that folder with the Homegroup. Allow it to have Read and Write permissions. Do not allow any untrusted PCs in this Homegroup. You can simply give untrusted computers shares to single folders/libraries as needed. Here is a link to help you learn all about Homegroups. Step 4 will probably help you the most.

Here is another link to help. Towards the end it will show you how to share a partition/hard drive with certain users on the Network.

Thank you so much for your reply, but I don't want to give any computer in the Homegroup access to my files just. Is it possible to have you enter a password to view the files? I want both my computers being able to see everything on my computers but not anyone else in the homegroup
