Windows 7 SP1 Doesnt show workgroup

Hi all,

Im having trouble with my windows 7 pc. It is currently connected to the internet and workgroup but it doesn't show in the network sharing center. When I press " see full map " it shows that my pc it not connected to gateway PC-RED X-Gateway-RED X- Internet but in fact it is connected to internet. And same goes for the workgroup, when I press connect to a network my pc prompts nothing. I've already turned on network discovery. Troubleshoot the connection. Why is this happening? Does anyone know how to make my workgroup appear?Btw my firewall settings is off and I cant see the option under firewall options to turned it on. I found out my firewall is off through command prompt. Just want to get the workgroup thingy fixed.

I have no problems using the internet on the same pc but I cant send out emails using outlook..

It sounds like you are using a modem/router plus another router which can cause problems unless they are properly configured.

im using a lan connection. it is all properly configured except for this 1..i think..it just wont show the workgroup,firewall settings and I cant use my outlook email to send out mails. under see full map is nothing. it shud be the name of the network that im connected to...but nothing there. the pc says im not connected to any network..but how am I using the internet then?

Are you sure you have all computers on the same Name network ?
