Windows 7 sp1 problems

I installed Windows 7 SP1 with no problems. Laptop restarted and booted up with no problems. But now I cannot access my email with any email program. Also Google Chrome Browser will not work either. And to add insult to injury IE8 and Microsoft Live mail won't either. Can anyone help me out or have I just been had by SP1.

Ouch, well a sure fire way to test your theory would be to uninstall the Service Pack (Control Pannel/Programs and Features) and see if that fixes the aforementioned problems. It could well be the Service Pack causing problems, or just a badly timed coincidence.

Have you checked your firewall rules? There have been several reports of programs losing connection to the internet and also losing connection to to local network stuff after installing SP1 that turn out to be Windows firewall rule problems.
