Hi friends,
i am new member of this forum, Last week installed Windows 7 Ultimate x32. 2G RAM i3 CPU, Geforce 9400 GT graphics card. All going well, updates installing fine until it came to SP1 KB976932

Am just curious is this an old retail pack and the OEM has the new stuff has SP1 on them.

Just where did you get this Ultimate from Des?

Its a retail pack purchased in 2009, after installing win7 first time in 2009 my pc was working fine till last month. Unfortunately due to power problems in last month, my os got corrupted badly. So i again installed win7 in last week second time after 2009 with that old DVD, but again it got corrupted due to improper shutdown.

Ok Des I was rather hoping you were going to say that now you can get andISO and put it on either a stick or DVD and the SP1 will be included as long asyou still have the code on that sticker from the retail pack buy. I have circled the one I think you need as long you want the English one (in pic)

Make sure you pick the right version ones with an N for example do not have the WMP included. When you do this it will mean a really clean install.

I was just thinking too is there a lot of stuff on the drive if so you mightbe as well to format it beforehand. http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/168358-format-hdd-usb.html

Thanks ICit2lol for your info, i will definitely burn win7 SP1 ISO on dvd with your given link. Yesterday i already found this info on this forum. Today i have sorted out my error, now my update is running without any problem.

This is the best informative forum i found on net. I yesterday read lots of topic here about how to repair errors. I found topics somewhat similar to my error, but not exactly same error. So i have used methods which are given on this forum to repair somewhat similar errors with mine.

Below is the solution which i have used to repair my error.
Downloaded and installed System Update Readiness Tool for Windows 7 (KB947821). After installation of this tool located Checksur file it creates in directory windows/Logs/CBS/ See my Checksur file details above in first post.

File showing 1 error CBS MUM Corrupt and Unavailable repair files:

servicing\packages\Microsoft-Windows-InternetExplorer-Package~31bf3856ad364e35~x86~~9.4.8112.16421.mum
servicing\packages\Microsoft-Windows-InternetExplorer-Package~31bf3856ad364e35~x86~~9.4.8112.16421.cat

I have a same pc with same configuration so i searched my second pc and found out this two similar files, copied them in C:\Windows\Temp\CheckSur\Servicing\Packages on my pc as given on this forum. After that i installed System Update Readiness Tool for Windows 7 (KB947821) again. now i have checked my Checksur file it creates in directory windows/Logs/CBS/
