Hi,

I'm a first time poster, so please excuse me if I'm posting this thread in the wrong place. I'm going to try to be as detailed as possible.
I'm pretty sure my problem is driver related, but I still need help finding out which driver(s) are faulty and how to install new ones.
The problem happen all of a sudden today, when I got the BSOD with the
"DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL" -line..
The file that the blue screen refers to is: "amdsata.sys"
The computer restarted by itself, but seconds after the Windows 7 Welcome screen the BSOD strikes again and the computer restarts again.
I should note that the BSOD happens instantly every time i get past the welcome screen, so i can't do anything in windows.
I googled fiercely but none of the fixes I've tried this far works.

What I've tried:
Starting windows in Safe-mode. Still get the BSOD.
Booting while holding F8 and doing the:
Startup repair; Not able to repair.
System restore; First time I tried it found a previous working image, but the restoration failed. After that I couldn't find any images any more.
I did the memory check and it said my memory was fine.
I tried to remove one of the RAM modules; still got BSOD
then I tried removing the other one; still got BSOD
and I tried each one in both RAM connectors, but there was no difference.

I know you want me to upload the minidump files, but I don't know how to do so when I can't use windows.

Any help would be much appreciated, and I will give you any additional information you need if I can reach it.

And if the fix is just installing the newest driver of the amdsata.sys, then I don't know how to do that either without using windows.

- Michael

Update:

I changed the "OnChip SATA Type" from "IDE->AHCI" to "Native IDE" in BIOS and are now able to start windows without getting the BSOD. Will be uploading the minidump zip as soon as possible, since the problem isn't fixed.
When I tried to restart the BSOD came back, so I had to switch to "IDE->AHCI" and then back to "Native IDE" again to be able to start Windows.

Update:

Since I didn't find a solution to the problem I have now formated the windows partition and reinstalled windows.
No BSOD anymore so at least there was no problem with the hardware.
