I've been fighting with a Win7 startup - problem for weeks and I decided to register to forum to ask for much needed help.
So I've been using Win7 for maybe six months without hardly any problems. But for week or so, my windows just refuses to start after my pc has been off for several hours. Every time I boot windows it crashes at "Loading windows" - screen and reboots and goes to startup repair. It doesn't give any error or anything, just crashes and boots to startup repair. Startup repair normally finds and fixes the problem, but the windows won't boot even then. Strangest thing is that when startup repair can't fix the problem, computer boots without any problem? It's pretty annoying when every time your computer has been off for over 2 hours you have to go trough series of rebooting and startup repairs to get to desktop. I haven't changed any hardware recently. All drivers on my computer also seem to be up to date, so what to do?

I would reseat the ram a few times, pull the stick(s) out, place them back in, pull them out, put them back in.

See if that fixes the issue, sometimes buildup on the ram can cause issues with startup, and the easiest way to remove is to do the steps above.

*First thing I would do is a Check Disk. Many a time, that fixes a lot of problems.

Next I would move on to the other suggestions like SFC Scannow and reseating RAM.
