I'm new to Win7 so forgive the question.
Basically each time I boot the Laptop (Dell Inspiron) a web page (the same url) starts, I'm using IE as the browser.
How do I stop it loading ?
Help appreciated.
Many thanks.

Hi Parabellum

Thanks for the speedy reply.

My home page is Google, the url that starts everytime the system boots is Tomtom.
Somewhere in Win7 there must be some kind of launcher that starts required/requested programs on startup.

Type shell:startup and look in there and also check msconfig (type that into the start menu); it may be in the startup tab. If you have software installed from TomTom there might be an option to disable it from starting in one of the options menu.

Basically everything in msconfig>Startup besides your AV and gadgets that doesn't absolutely need to start up with Win7, is a freeloader on your startup time, RAM, CPU and can spy on you.

You can turn off everything else using these steps: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1401-startup-programs-change.html

This includes the useless Dell utilities that have much better version built into Win7.

If you have a question about what any of these do, expand the heading borders over "Command" in msconfig to see fully what they are, then google them to find out.

Thanks All,

I've now resolved the problem by unloading and reloading the TomTom software.
Once again thanks for the suggestions.
