I am using Windows 7 ultimate 32 bit version. I have 2 hard drives a 120G Kingstone SSD on which i have the OS(that runs ok) and a WDC 250G regular SATA hard drive(whit which i have problems). My problem is that lately when it comes to the second drive windows act strange . When i boot windows it sees the sata drive with all the partitions. The access to the data on it seems slower. After around lets say 5-10 minutes the hard drive cannot the accessed and windows no longer sees it. After reboot everything is back to normal(for the next 5-10 minutes, the the problem is back). What is the problem?
I would first check my cables to make sure they are completely seated and not losing connection to the drive. If that does not help I would run the manufacturer's Diagnostic test and run the DOS test, the short drive self test and the long drive test, The Western Digital software can be found at WD Support / Downloads / SATA & SAS / WD Black If that one won't work, try using Seagate's diagnostic Seatools for DOS SeaTools for DOS | Seagate
