I've been reading threads and posts all over this place and trying out different suggestions to this, apparently, common problem, but alas! To no avail.

I run a Windows 7 Home Premium on my Acer Aspire 7741ZG. As of this morning windows isn't recognizing my password. So far I've tried the following:
- keyboard language settings
- numlock
- CapsLock and variations on using Caps
- Safe Mode> directs me to windows login, where I have the same problem.
- Repair Computer <from Advanced Boot Options<, but it froze on a black screen. Shut off computer after 10 minutes.

my problem with the solutions so far:
* In Safe mode I do not get the option of choosing login user, so I can't choose Admin login.
* can't, or don't know how to, run command prompt from Safe Mode and Win+R doesn't work on the Windows Login screen.
* I can't download an unlocking software....because I can't get into my computer!! (Plus I just move to this tone and don't know anyone I can borrow PC to download. And I don't get back in to work until Tuesday...3 days from now.

Soooooo......what would you suggest I try next?

Can't get into windows recovery mode. It came pre-installed on the laptop and the "repair computer" option in The Advanced Boot Option freezes on a black screen after 'windows is downloading files, please wait'

So this is how it got fixed:
I couldn´t get the downloaded unlocking software to run, because I couldn´t set my laptop to boot from CD, the setup menu made an aweful bleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep sound everytime I tried to save the boot from cd settings.
So I gave my laptop to the IT guy at work......who had it back up and running and password free within the hour.
I´m still upset I couldn´t figure it out myself, but glad I can use my laptop again.

Thank you all for taking the time to reply!

You can use the Acer F12 key to bring up a one-time BIOS Boot Menu. It isn't necessary to set it in BIOS.

Oh, didn't know
